Youth Group (TOPS and POPS)

TOPS = Teens Offering Prayer and Support
POPS = Preteens Offering Prayer and Support

Our Mission: We exist to IMPACT students for Christ, that together we may HONOR Him in worship, LOVE one another in fellowship, GROW as Christ's disciples, and be TRAINED in ministry.

Our Vision: To foster an authentic community where people are bringing people closer to Jesus Christ and to each other.

Programs:
TOPS and POPS (Friday Night) --  We meet every Friday evening from 7:30 to 10:00 for a time for praise, games, Bible teaching, and small group discussions. We start in Room E-210 then split up into groups; POPS will go to F-104. For TOPS, the Bible teaching is done by the counselors in a small group setting (divided by grade and sex). For POPS, the Bible teaching is done as a large group followed by small group discussions.

Sunday School -- There is one class on Sunday mornings from 9:10-10:00 am in Room E-210. There are four classes available after the English language service beginning from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM pm (7th & 8th grade, 9th grade, 10th grade, and 11th & 12th grade).

Youth Winter Retreat -- At the end of December every year there is a TOPS/POPS retreat (after Christmas and before New Years).

30-Hour Famine -- This is a program that promotes awareness for those in poverty around the world. The youth raise funds, go hungry for 30 - hours, and serve the community together. DCBC has been participating in this event with World Vision for the past 5+ years and has raised over $45000 to date.

DCCYC -- This is a 5-day youth summer camp sponsored by numerous Chinese churches in the DFW area. The camp usually occurs after Memorial Day through the first weekend in June.

Youth Summer Missions -- Missions should be an integral part of the church. Here at DCBC, high school students have an opportunity to be a part of missions by going on short-term missions. Going to Mexico and/or spending time in inner-city Dallas broadens our view of the world and helps us to be better World Christians. The summer missions trip usually occurs in the first week of July.
