Today, we looked at John 14:26: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” As we closed up our week of VBS, we were reminded that God loves and care for us, no matter what it is that we have done or will do. He gives us the Holy Spirit so that we may continue to have an intimate relationship with Him.
Thank you to all the parents and students for supporting our missionary families–the Oh’s and the Wong’s. We raised $551! As a result, we pied some of our leaders with whipped cream to celebrate.
To wrap up the day, we had our annual Carnival festivities! Below are some pictures showcasing the fun that we had:
Thanks to our volunteers for serving in VBS this year! Here are some of our teams:
Please remember to join us at 10:00 AM this Sunday to see the children perform live! May we continue to pray for the work of the Holy Spirit in all of us and for the children to continue to grow in their faith and understanding of our good Father. God bless! See you all next year!

Because the end of the week is nearing, the kids have become a lot more familiar with the choreography and lyrics of our opening song, Galactic Starveyors. After singing praise, the kids listened to Teacher Camellia use the movie Finding Dory as a metaphor for faith in Jesus Christ.
During Huddle, pre-schoolers worked with their helpers to align the planets in order.
An elementary school camper shows off the cross that she made today using yarn and Popsicle sticks during Crafts.
We played Sharks and Minnows during Game Time.
During the gospel presentation before closing, kids participate in a science experiment with Teacher Joseph that represents the cleansing of our sins by Jesus Christ.
We will conclude with two shoutouts.
First, thanks so much to our kitchen team, who work behind the scenes to keep the volunteers fed and the camp running smoothly.
Right to left: Auntie Janet, Uncle Hanh, Uncle Alex, Auntie Queenie and Auntie Erica.
Finally, thanks so much for our wonderful Small Group leaders for guiding our campers into their spiritual journey towards greater love of Christ.
Here’s a goofy photo.
Thanks for another great day at camp!

Day 3 is about The Restoration Promised – God sent His Son, Jesus, to be Savior of the world.
After opening ceremony (pictured above), campers gathered in their Small Groups for Bible, in which they discussed God’s promise to redeem humanity via his only son, Jesus Christ. The Bible Verses of the day were Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-24 and Luke 2:22-38.
Afterwards, campers discussed their thoughts during Huddle.
After games, campers exercised their creativity and artistic talent during Crafts. The lower-elementary schoolers made constellation using construction paper, scissors and glue.
A camper shows off his work.
During Mission and Snack, Teacher Andrew further discussed the fall of humanity from the Garden of Eden and the price Jesus had to pay for our sin.
During today’s closing, we invited the kids onstage to sing and dance with our Praise Team.
Thanks for another fun day at DCBC!

Day 2′s theme was The Relationship Broken. Our Bible Point of the day is that Sin messed everything up, but God is still in control, and our daily Bible Verse is Genesis 3.
Once again, we began with praise and dancing lead by our Praise Team.
Next, each camper got to know his/her peers through ice-breakers, asking and answering questions about themselves.
Game time! Elementary kids played dodgeball, hula hooping and other fun physical sports.
Preschool kids craft “moon rocks” using sparkly play-doh with supervision from their helpers.
We concluded like we always do, with a discussion and reflection about what we’ve learned today.
Thanks to every camper for such an exciting second day!
See you tomorrow,
The VBS Team

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything is created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been create through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:15-16.
Welcome to VBS 2017! This year, our campers are searching the visible and discovering the invisible to better understand the power of Jesus Christ.
Today was the first day of camp.
Campers began their day by listening to Teacher Camellia talk about today’s theme at VBS – The Relationship Begins. Today’s bible point was that the God who created everything wants a relationship with us. The verses of the day are Genesis 1:1-2,26-31 and John 1:1 and 14.
Kids and helpers are guided by our Dance Crew in singing praise and dancing.
Next, everyone moves into their Small Groups for Bible and Huddle.
Campers participate in arts and crafts, decorating their backpacks and T-shirts.
Finally, we conclude by discussing God sightings and reflecting on the lessons learned today.
Thanks to parents and campers for a wonderful first day!
See you tomorrow,
The VBS Team.

Exploratory crafts, team-building games, cool songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life–something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!
Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join us at Closing Ceremony for each day at 11:50am!
